Point McKay

Point McKay is a small riverside community in northwest Calgary, Alberta. It lies between Bowness Road to the north and the Bow River to the south, and is bordered by 37th street to the east and Montgomery View to the west. Point McKay homes enjoy some of the finest park settings in Calgary, while being conveniently located near the downtown core. Point McKay real estate offers mostly townhouses and condos with a small number of duplexes as well.

Point McKay was part of the town of Montgomery before it was annexed by the City of Calgary in 1963 and still shares many of the amenities provided by the Montgomery Community Association. Some features are Shouldice Arena and Shouldice Memorial Pool as well as a new creative playground in Shouldice Park, built in 2002. In addition to recreational facilities at Foothills Athletic Park, residents also enjoy the Bow River recreational pathways and access to Edworthy Park by a bridge crossing the Bow River.

The area offers a great selection of shopping opportunities. Aside from many local businesses just steps away from Point McKay, major shopping hubs in the area include North Hill Mall, Calgary’s famous Market Mall and the beautiful shops in Kensington.

There are two schools serving the community, Terrace Road Elementary (Public) and Montgomery Junior High School (Public).
