Rocky Ridge belonged to the District of Rockyview prior to being annexed by the city of Calgary in 1989. It is bordered by Country Hills Blvd to the north, Rocky Ridge Road to the east, Crowchild Trail to the south and 12 Mile Coulee Road to the west. The area offers recreational pathways throughout the community and with access to many playfields and ponds, residents can truly enjoy the local environment.

Local amenities for the community of Rocky Ridge will be enhanced with the opening of the brand new Royal Oak School, a public K-4 elementary school which will be ready for its first year of operation in September 2010. This new school will accommodate approximately 550 children from both Rocky Ridge and Royal Oak. Other public schools serving the area are Belvedere – Parkway School (K-4), Simon Fraser School (5-9), and Bowness High School (10-12). The separate schools serving the community are St. Sylvester (K-6), St. Jean Brebeuf Junior High (7-9), and St. Francis Senior High (10-12).
With the Northwest section of the Calgary Ring Road complete, a planned Police-Fire-Ambulance Hub and the addition of the final station on the C-Train’s Northwest Line, Tuscany/Rocky Ridge, projected by 2014, Rocky Ridge continues to enhance life for its residents.
