The land on which Marlborough sits was first integrated into the city in 1961 but the community did not flourish until 1967. Marlborough is bounded by 36th Street NE to the west, Memorial Drive to the south, 52nd Street to the east and 16th Avenue to the north. The neighborhood has a very active community association and is represented by Ward 10 in the Calgary City Council.

The community association has its own center which has great amenities for residents to use such as a gym, a standard kitchen, a stage, a sound system, a lounge, an indoor fireplace and sports fields. Residents of all ages are also catered for with several different Senior Programs, sports programs, bingo nights, card game nights, Guides, Scouts and the Boys & Girls Club available to join.
