The Fairview community in the south-east quadrant of the city of Calgary is one of the older, more established neighborhoods. The land on which Fairview stands was integrated into the city in 1956 and the community was developed in 1959. Fairview is mainly residential in the western section and industrialized in the eastern section. The community is bounded by the Glenmore Trail to the north, the Blackfoot Trail to the east, Heritage Drive to the south and the Macleod Trail to the west. Fairview has its own community association and is represented in the Calgary City Council by Ward 9.
