The location of Briar Hill makes it very convinient for those attending SAIT and the Alberta College of Art. Transportation is also convinient for those attending the U of C as the community is serviced by Lions Park C-Train station, on the Northwest LRT. Shopping is also a short walk away with the North Hill shopping center which is a full service mall which has banking facilities as well as grocery shopping like Safeway. If you're looking for more schopping you can take Crowchild Trail west and visit Market Mall and Brentwood Village. For more trendy and shops and boutiques you can head down the hill along 14 Street W to Kensington.
There is also an abundance of recreation with various pubs and restaurants along 16th Ave which caters to the younger college and university crowd. There is also the Southern Alberta Jubiliee which is on SAIT's ground which host concerts and plays and other acts. If you're looking for more of a relaxing time Kensigton also has various restaurants and coffee shops to choose from.
Briar Hill is mostly made up of single family homes, most of which were built between the 1950's and 70's. There are also two medium-rise condo towers which are a few years old on the southwest corner of 16th Ave and 14st W and along the LRT line.
