The neighborhood of Bel Aire is another of the affluent and luxurious communities to be found in the south-western quadrant of Calgary. The land on which the community sits was integrated into the city in 1954 but Bel Aire was not actually established until 1960. The community is bounded by Elbow Drive to the east, the Glenmore Trail to the south, the Glenmore Reservoir to the west and Calgary Golf & Country Club to the north. The community has its own association and is represented in the Calgary City council by Ward 11.
